The 60th Reunion of the Class of '66 is now a Great Memory

 

It took a year to plan but only three days to celebrate! Now, the UAHS Class of a 1966 60th reunion is one for the history books!

 

In the words of one classmate, “The best part: lots of smiling faces, lots to be proud of and lots of dear memories created for all of us.”


 

Our goal was to entice as many classmates as possible to return home to Upper Arlington to celebrate our common roots. We planned the weekend to bring us all together again for the first time in a decade. We wanted to help build a strong support group to help us face the coming years together despite the miles that may separate us.

 

We emailed. We texted. We sent letters to classmates who did not have cell phones or email addresses in our data base. And you responded!

 

More than 150 classmates and guests from 20 different states and the District of Columbia came back for three days of fantastic fellowship and fun. Highlights included:

 

• A tour of the new high school with the Annual Alumni Awards Ceremony, honoring our very own Sharon Anderholm Wiener, PhD for her outstanding career in worldwide diplomacy

 

• A Social Hour at Yogi’s Bar and Grill with the classes of 1965 and 1967

 

• Float decorating at the Tullett’s House and Yoga in UA Thompson Park with Kathy Orr

 

• The Diamond Jubilee Celebration at the UA Community Center featuring a delicious food display provided by The Berwick with a Golden Bear Signature Cocktail donated by High Banks Distillery in a beautiful new event center with an outdoor balcony.

 

• The traditional Class of 1966 float in the Upper Arlington Fourth of July Parade
