Reunion Schedule of Activities

 

Dear Classmate:

 

We can’t wait to see you at the UAHS Class of 1966’s Sixtieth Reunion! Here is some information to help you navigate events.

 

Thursday, July 2

 

2:00 - 4:00 pm.  Open House at the Upper Arlington High School, 1625 Zollinger Road, 43221. Join us in the Auditorium at 3:00 pm as Sharon Anderholm Weiner receives one of the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Awards from the UAHS Alumni Association.

 

4:30 pm. Social Hour for the Classes of ’65, ’66, and ’67 (Cash Bar), Yogi’s Bar and Grill, 1126 W. Henderson Road, 43220. Please note there are lane restrictions due to road construction in front of Yogi’s. Make your own dinner arrangements with classmates. 

 

Friday, July 3

 

10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Float Decorating in UA Thompson Park, East side parking area, 4350 Mountview Road. Water will be provided. Make lunch arrangements on your own.

 

10:30 am to 11:30 pm. Relax with gentle yoga at the South Shelter House in Thompson Park (near the parking lot used for float building), hosted by Kathy Orr Ragsdale. (Suggested donation: $10 per participant for the instructor.) Bring your own mat, although mats will be available for those who do not have one with them. Enjoy donuts from the Original Goodie Shop after yoga. Please text Kathy at 614-352-8355 if you haven’t let us know you’re participating.

 

6:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Diamond Jubilee Celebration, UA’s Bob Crane Community Center, Fifth Floor, 3200 Tremont Road in the heart of the Kingsdale mixed-use development. DRESS FOR THE EVENING IS CASUAL. Parking is available in the garage, which is accessible from the traffic light on Tremont Road in front of the Community Center. Drop passengers off at the door if assistance is needed. Take the lobby elevators to the fifth floor. 

 

Saturday, July 4

 

8:30 am. Meet at Kingsdale to ride on the class float in the UA Fourth of July Parade. Wear a white shirt or the 60th Reunion polo. We have spaces for up to 30 people to ride. Some classmates have indicated they plan on walking. The Float is being staged on the east side of Northwest Blvd. Look for position 207. The drop off area for all participants is the Chase Bank Parking lot, 3200 Tremont Road. At the end of the route, the float will return to Kingsdale. 

 

1:00 pm. Explore Quarry Trails Metro Park. Enter the park area off Trabue Road via the traffic light at Quarry Hills Drive. Continue through the residential area to the Lake parking area and look for the Class of 1966 Welcome Sign. Explore the park with friends as a self-guided tour. If you prefer, you can just enjoy the view from Badda Bean Badda Booze or Playa Bowls, at the top of the hill in the residential area. Free parking is available on the street and in the lot behind the Tillmore apartments. Use the ParkMobile app for two complimentary hours — enter the lot code, add your plate, and confirm before you walk in. Remember, the PGA Senior Tournament is continuing at Scioto Country Club on the Fourth, but most fans will be shuttled from remote parking at OSU.  

 

9:00 pm. Arrive at Northam Park, 1880 Northam Road, to watch the spectacular UA Fireworks. Make your own arrangements to view with family and friends. The fireworks begin at 10:00 pm.
